Another fun myth. Broker/Dealers short to create liquidity in the market like using riskless principle transactions which get marked short.

The short usually lasts for about a second though when they cover from the seller of the stock.

But let’s blame a range of phantom forms and actions…instead of the reality.

Could there be shorting going on? Sure. But it is by broker’s clients. It could even be the warrant holders shorting against the box.

But it’s not “MM’s” or “off shore shorty” creating those open positions as their own…LOL.
