new to this website, found it during my spectra7 research and decided to register. And share some DD
This company has huge potential but looking at the history it learns there is also a trail of continuous dilution...
I think the DC market is by far the most interesting with their cost saving Active Copper Cable technology.
The AR/VR market is also heating up and this could also be a big winner IMO
Back in 2019 it was mentioned in a presentation that Spectra7 has a big design in (or design win?) at the Sony playstation VR console and that it was expected to go in production somewhere in 2020
Of course a lot has changed in the world since the end of 2019... Currently more and more news on the Sony PSVR2 is released. Back in February Jim Ryan (CEO Sony Interactive Entertainment) mentioned that "One of the very vivid illustrations of that is that we will be moving to a very easy single-cord setup" https://www.washingtonpost.com/video-games/2021/02/23/ps5-vr/
Also there was a patent about the eyetracking technology they talk about communication via wireless transceivers https://patentimages.storage.googleapis.com/76/e8/ba/82d4226a7270f3/US20210303067A1.pdf So at first sight it looked like that might have switched to a wireless technology.
However in the patent description under point 160 it is mentioned: "via a wired connection ( not shown )"
The new Playstation headset is covered in mystery and Spectra7 has gone almost completely silent on their VR activities. Maybe they don't play a role anymore in the new VR headset but it can also be that there is a big NDA signed with Sony.
The CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment mentions the single cord setup in February of this year, I don't think they will (or can) change their plans so quickly to move to a complete wireless headset. Could be something interesting...
