Back when the rule change was first announced, a lot of people had the theory that it was a good thing for the OTC, as it would lead to more $$$'s going into reporting tickers vs No Infos..........Whelp.....I think we can unequivocally say now.....THAT DIDN'T WORK....lol.
This 'new' OTC is a disaster IMO. If anything, it looks to me like those massive profits people made playing custodianships, no infos, deliquent tickers coming back to life, etc......it was those plays and those profits, which went back into other plays, is what made the OTC worthwhile.
Now it's dead, if you take '5' letter ticker symbol's out of the equation, there is basically very little volume at all in normal common stocks, except perhaps a few expensive QX tickers.
Very disappointing and completely unnecessary, as honestly I doubt it's doing much to combat fraud. Fraud will just will shift it from No Info to the Expert Market, where 'Sophisticated' investors now have the EXCLUSIVE opportunity to load up on dirt cheap shares & sell them to us at higher prices when they go back Pink. Rich get richer.
