Trump needs to serve as a counterpoint to slanders and mischaracterizations of Biden, because the counterpart's execrable behavior and really shitty record serve as useful context.

The VA election shows that just over half of the voters in the usual lower turnout off year election bought the fearmongering of a closet Trump. Buyers remorse will set in soon enough.
