re tax loss - why not? but it aint rocket science, we all should look for stocks getting kilt (near or at 52 wk lows) that are selling off or no good reason. Now, I've always found that among the best ones are really crappy earnings stocks (stocks that lose money... sometimes lots) that are selling off b/c those are the ones that when you get to December an investor might rationalize that its such a piece of shite that it deserves getting kilt and the dont mind selling at any crappy price to get rid of it. Among those that I like to try and pick up are the failed cash laden biotechs, b/c they often lose tons of money and its ez to rationalize dumping them at any price. I think micro cap biotech has been a poor performing sector, so there are a bunch of those (I know like four off the top of my head). But its kinda early to buy... I usually wait for middish December to get the 'retail tax buying' going on. But actually, its hard for me to think that these failed biotechs can go much lower... they have gotten kilt....
best.
