What Is Stagflation?

Stagflation is characterized by slow economic growth and relatively high unemployment—or economic stagnation—which is at the same time accompanied by rising prices (i.e. inflation). Stagflation can be alternatively defined as a period of inflation combined with a decline in the gross domestic product (GDP).

I remember buying my first home in 1982. My fixed-rate mortgage was over 18%.

I remember lining up to buy very expensive gas for the car on even or odd numbered days according to my license plate number. The Arab Oil Embargo of 1973. In retrospect, this was the event that kicked the whole thing off.

I believe the COVID-19 pandemic is the same kind of event that will kick us over the edge this time.

And I know folks like to blame one party or the other but that's not the case. Poor economic policies of BOTH parties over the years are to blame. They are all shit.

It's going to get really ugly.
