I know one person who had eye surgery that converted one eye to permanent short sightedness/near vision and the other to distance vision so that she wouldn’t need to use glasses ever. I don’t think I’d do that, as binocular vision is still useful, especially when you are driving.

Do the eye drops that allow for reading interfere with distant vision?

I.e., does it mean that you can read a book or computer screen for six hours, but driving a car is a bad idea for the same time period?
