You know, I was ready to set things aside. Last night some of those memories came back, just when I thought I had them under control. I remembered the first time I saw the inside of a VA hospital, my buddy and I put on our civies and went to see a friend who graduated a year ahead of us. We were not even 18 years old but we were already trying to relive the days we would ride our motorcycles on an enjoyable evening. Once we got to the VA and saw the ward he was in, I knew something wasn't right. But I was young I just wanted to see my friend. He had changed, I picked up on it quickly, but my other friend didn't. Within 20 minutes we were leaving, nothing was the same anymore, no questions were answered, but I learned a year later that he ended up losing his leg. We would never ride bikes again, and to this day I never asked what happened, I learned that reliving bad memories aren't fun. You keep them locked away.
