No where it said it is a free source of energy, you use oil which contains a bunch of H2, and electricity to create the plasma, and the plasma will indeed break down paraffin (that is one way carbon nanotubes and buckyballs in general are produced, and they cost $500/gram...). I think there are simpler and cheaper reforming methods to extract hydrogen from paraffins
