Communism as a Viable Doctrine:> It doesn't work. Human nature being what it is. Eventually, the 'for the good of > the proletariat' becomes 'how can I get a better apartment, clothes, car, for me'.> I was laughted at, way back in HS because I told them it (communism) simply > couldn't endure. (Where ever my history teacher is now, I hope his face is red, > no pun intended)

My response to this ties in with the statements below: you are subscribing to propaganda. When I was in high school, I came up with the theory of ‘why communism can never work’ as well; think that’s a coincidence? Not at all. That’s what we were meant to decide. The most effective propaganda lets you come to the ‘correct’ conclusions on your own. I agree with most of what is expressed here, in that communism cannot work in society as it is. Karl Marx was right about many things, but myopic. Although it is increasingly unnecessary, the human species still views life as competitive. According to this mindset, my lifestyle can only get better if someone, somewhere, loses a level in theirs. Conservation of resources and all that jazz. Marx didn’t write in a cultural revolution to precede the political one, and this is the shortcoming of communism. Our entire concept of the world and our relationship to it and to each other has to change in order for cooperation to replace competition. It’ll happen someday. Not in my life, or even in this century.

Exactly. And you have swallowed as much as any so-called ‘fanatic’. Are you weak-minded or mentally ill? Yes, fanaticism is an issue. But it’s the source that has to be addressed. The manipulators and the cultural patterns that make that manipulation work. A lot of work is being done to that end; check out www.disinformation.com.
