no problem, I was waiting to drop that somewhere. I have a friend who is in recovery like me and he goes to a christian church for his meetings. He tried to get me to go with him but I passed.
He told me a story about a mens retreat that he went on with the group somewhere in the middle of Ohio. He went there expecting some solitude and reflection.
He wasn't 5 minutes off the bus before he heard gunshots and got a little fearful. When he asked about it the other men just laughed and walked him directly to where they were trap shooting clay targets. He thought it was kind of cool at first but he said after a few minutes there he was hearing more repetitive shots in the background, so again he questioned and they again laughed and took him over to their gun range where they fire all their high powered exotic weapons and explosives.
So much for the solitude and reflection. He said they spent more time shooting at and blowing shit up in those 5 days then they did in meditation sessions. He learned how to make home made grenades and got proficient at the .50 caliber sniper rifle.
There were unlimited amounts of weapons and ammunition for them to play with. All with Jesus's blessing, of course. LOL I always ask him how his militia meetings and rapture planning went when I talk to him on our weekly check ups. He regrets ever telling me the story because I won't ever let him live it down. Fortunately we are close enough to be able to make fun of one another without recourse.
I keep telling my therapist that she needs to up her game a bit if she wants to keep up with our sessions.
