Both, just need to write down password for coinbase and coin wallet will have a word phrase that needs to be written down, treat like keys to your house, car etc. because if they are lost your crypto is lost because it unlocks the wallet if you are locked out or sign out etc. You will need your coinbase password and coin wallet word phrase to connect to whatever device you want to use. I stay logged in so I don’t have to always log in with password and word phrase. Like I mentioned I am logged in to both my apple i phone and iPad at the same time. I plan on engraving my word phrase to metal for safe keeping. The word phrase can not be lost to your coin wallet.
