I also know from my traveling days that I could drive from Steamboat Springs, Colorado, through Rabbit Ears Pass on my way to Wyoming, and before the second 100 miles was completed I would be wishing I was anywhere place than there.
So many places in America are lacking broadband service putting many American's behind, making the country strong, means just that, the entire nation.
Once again our founding father's passed a mandate to build roads for commerce, they did that by placing taxes on goods and services. That is how you build a nation, you also spend it on education. YOu just cannot always govern a nation by what our fore fathers first started, you build upon it, you even invest in airports. Of course airports were not apart of the colonial landscape, but in today's America they are.
You keep doing things to allow your population to grow, you just cannot always give a tax break to the wealthy to sit on land.
