Getting through the day at one time meant working through problems, now it's about preventing confrontations. Butting heads is what I use to do best, then it became can't we all just get along. Finally it was just giving in to keep the peace. Now I find myself more alone, except for Mary. I had friends for decades, some from even my high school days, but they have slipped away. People just don't disagree well, it's like my brother, his way. I had many conservative friends, but now they just want to remind me not t that they know best, do not stray. It's sad, we were never that rigid. Good relationships are about finding ways to work together, America was founded on that principle.
