I don't understand you.

In 1952, the number of polio cases in the U.S. peaked at 57,879, resulting in 3,145 deaths. Those who survived this highly infectious disease could end up with some form of paralysis.

Before a vaccine was available, polio caused more than 15,000 cases of paralysis a year in the U.S.

Those diagnosed with polio were only those with severe enough symptoms to show some form of paralysis. I provided the Mayo Clinic link stating that LESS THAN 1% of people infected with polio showed symptoms.

You still don't get it. Covid is far more contagious and the death toll is astonishingly high whereas polio had a small death toll and was far less contagious. Over 650,000 Americans have DIED in 1.5 years in the US from Covid and we are in the midst of a big surge DESPITE an effective vaccine around and many vaccinated. Some 1,000-2,000 people are DYING from COVID-19 right NOW during this surge. That means more people will have died from COVID-19 this WEEK than died in ALL of 1952 from polio.

Since the beginning of 2020, 1 out of every 500 Americans have died from Covid. I will repeat, 1 out of every 500 Americans have died from Covid. You showed a statistic that only 3,145 Americans died from polio in 1952 BEFORE a vaccine was available. MERS was far more lethal that Covid-19 but it was far less contagious.
