Maybe. I don't spend much time thinking about bush, it was just what came to mind. Huge tax cuts resulting in the traditional republican economic crash wasn't even an original fuck-up. The unprovoked invasion of Iraq will always be his historical legacy, I suppose.

I think of it more in personal terms. Two of my nephews got screwed up by the iraq war, which was totally unnecessary, costly, and accomplished very little except spawning ISIS. One was a special forces badass who hung himself after he got home, and one is now basically a babbling hermit.

So my charity toward bush is pretty thin. Actually, i dislike cheney more than him, but since they are both already basically in the dustbin of history, I don't get very exercised by them. Seeing bush praised for his terrorist stuff is kind of a sad joke.

It looked to me like he was more helping Jeb by distancing themselves from trump domestic terror and trying to make republicans seem more normal. which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it smacked of political calculus and not a lot different than when he was doing the run up to the invasion of iraq. I am sure my opinion is not in the majority, but so be it.
