When those 13 marines died yesterday, it reminded me of someone I knew who was drafted just before the end of the Vietnam war, he went to nam, had a decent assignment, and 1/2 way through his tour died. I was playing cards, drinking a coffee when a buddy came in and told me. He died and it was for nothing. At least those Marines died saving 1000s, there was a purpose to that mission. That's a true sacrifice, all of America should of just stopped and reflected on that heroic service. I was flipping channels, and Fox couldn't wait to pounce on it. It's sad when some can't stop, and remember what it was like to see a generation get wasted in a war that brought America so much turmoil in the 1960s. What we saw yesterday was the best of America, saving a population from another dictatorship government.
