Don't look now, but there're plenty of places where guns are now welcome, and not allowed. We can start with the U.S. Capitol.
We can add trains, airplanes, public transport in most cities. Government agencies: a few years back there was an idiot appointed to a post at the SEC who thought he could pack a pistol at work. He was quickly removed from his position.
Then we have sporting events. Other kinds of entertainment. Not everywhere, of course; not in states where people love their guns more than they do their children.
But where I live, we're civilized. Even so, no matter where you live, I think you'd find yourself escorted out if you ever tried to take a gun to Whole Foods. Not really in the spirit of the chain, you know.
