Richard Hogan, a famous CBS TV commentator that did the moon langdings, just on the radio threw out the idea of using liquid nitrogen to put fires out. What do you think? He suggested dropping canisters of liquid nitrogen or firing rockets, and exploding them over a fire to suck the oxygen out and then super cool the ground and any materials so they are to cold to reignite. Or instead of setting back fires, which are hard to control, putting canisters that you set off when the fire gets to them and it douses it with super cold liquid while cutting off the oxygen.

Now he is talking about large fires, like in California, but I was wondering if you could make something for building fires. Or maybe even something that fire fighters could carry, like a small canister and they could throw it into a room before they went rushing in. Of course if there was somebody in the room, I wonder if that would be a problem. Hm, being burned or getting frost bite? It could be the new high tech way to fight fires.
