Nations/groups have always sought to destroy their rivals, to weaken and kill them by any/all means available. So why should today be any different? That's just the reality of life here on the planet. The elite oligarchy that runs the planet see us 7 billion peons as an ever present threat to their continued oligarchy.

The more relevant question is why they waited this long to do it? Historically the problem with using bio agents as weapons is that they are indiscriminate and will kill everyone. Hence the intense research to develop race-specific bio agents. But a better way around the problem is to administer the agent as part of a vaccination. The agent can be designed to interfere with reproduction (immuno-contraceptive), or be a fast or slow acting toxin, a cancer virus, etc. A slower acting agent has a big advantage since the population reduction is gradual and the vaccine won't get the blame.

However, with all the vaccines already in use, it would be easy to carry out the depopulation agenda via these existing vaccines. So the primary rationale for the Covid-19 pandemic may not be population reduction.

Catherine Fitts' hypothesis is that a key rationale for the pandemic was to advance the 'Going Direct Reset' by which the central banks grab control over global assets. The pandemic wrecks the economy, and the central banks 'go direct' with trillions to gain control of global assets, etc. In conjunction with this will be the move to CBDC/Central Bank Digital Currencies, social credit score systems, digital/electric everything, and other control measures.

But who knows. Assuming the pandemic was deliberate, the motivations could include many other aspects that us small fry 'observers' aren't even remotely aware of.
