Because every single person in this space understands that current SOC is a downward descending line into oblivion. Doing better than that leaves tons of room to still lack improvement which is what anavex does and even admits in multiple PRs. I think its also easy to understand that if me or you take a test today and get a score and 4 weeks later we take the test again and the score is better and then 5 months after that its even better than that and then 3 months after that its even better that the result would be a far superior drug. So far that appears to be what we are seeing. Pretty simple IMO.

It shows the concern that a sigmar-1 stimulating drug could conceivable pump gasoline on the increased plaque load in AD patients and they are seeking a drug that would inhibit the sigma-1 response as a therapeutic for AD patients.
