You are correct it's not instant. But because so many companies make use of changes to HELP them get current it's not that difficult either. Any Company that is Current with their State SOS may ask FINRA for adjustments to the A/S (including R/S), Change their name and even without FINRA permission sign new Contracts. That can be verified by looking at the OTCMarkets Compliance Overview Page. Nothing BAD about it, nothing negative meant or implied, just a fact. GLTY!!
