I have often noted I am a capitalist --- free market believer
I have often noted I am a liberal on social issues
I have often noted that as a capitalist - interested in saving capitalism from a true insurrection by the MASSES --- I like Socialist programs like Social Security - Medicare - Medicaid - SNAP - Unemployment Insurance
My view - (not my original view) is that capitalism is the ONLY system that encourages innovation and creativity and energy. And capitalism builds wealth.
At same time if we have 40 years of all the growth going to one % or say 5% -- then the 95 -99% % will at some point blame capitalism and not the idiotic government for not working for THEM (too). That would be bad for all of us
So I believe (not original) that capitalism is FOSTERED by having some key "redistribute the wealth programs" to the 90-95% - like the above. It supports capitalism not being tossed out for true socialism which I hate.
Again - IMO - if unregulated and if the POLS pad the 1% - then IMO capitalism will die and be replaced with some form of higher distribution that does NOT produce wealth
So best to have programs and a tax structure for the 95% so that capitalism is the engine for growth and we all share in that wealth
I see zero contradiction in my position (Summary - R party has lied to the people as they steal the wealth. If in power too long - that will be understood and all hell will break loose. Better to have open left leaning Dems redistribute the wealth now and then - and capitalism will thrive and enrich us all
And yes I think DJT is spreading a lie re the elections as a sore loser baby - and should have been impeached for fostering the environment that lead to Jan 6 ---- which you and I saw with our own eyes - was not a lover feast - with 140 cops hurt and 5 people dead and a gallows in front of our halls of freedom
