Ok that's a more realistic explanation...

Now nothing is wrong with taking a chance!! He's taking a risk that could pay off handsomely for him and you guys are along for the ride. Now that's totally different than "We are going to the Moon", "this one will fly" pumps. You guys are just hoping they really do have the technology. That's waaaayyy different than a sure thing.
