No, poly pipe in not known as a workhorse when used on above ground plumbing of tanks. In fact, it become a huge liability and will cause problems. Both the cold weather and the sun cause it to become very brittle and wind blowing, birds landing on it, animals bumping it and sometimes just the vibration of walking up the stairs of the tank will cause a catastrophic failure.

It is designed to be used underground to isolate it from the elements listed above. Insurance companies will not cover the environmental damage caused by using this to plumb a tank battery.
