conix, Off into bwaahbah land again, eh. Fox News star Tucker Carlson's 'great replacement' segment used a new frame for an old fear

[...]

On Thursday .. https://www.mediamatters.org/tucker-carlson/tucker-carlson-face-fox-news-just-gave-his-full-endorsement-white-nationalist , Fox News host Tucker Carlson seemingly answered whatever questions may remain about his willingness to carry water for these white supremacists. Carlson wailed that the Democratic Party was “trying to replace the current electorate” in the U.S. with “new people, more obedient voters from the Third World.” That, according to Carlson, is “what’s happening actually. Let’s just say it. That’s true.”

One problem? Carlson ignored the fact that the 2020 electorate turned out far more immigrant .. https://www.vox.com/first-person/2020/10/30/21540263/vietnamese-american-support-trump-2020 .. and nonwhite populations .. https://www.bostonglobe.com/2021/04/10/nation/trumps-improved-performance-with-latino-voters-2020-was-powered-by-surprising-source-women/ .. for Donald Trump than the U.S. had seen in years, or that the biggest gains in the Democratic camp in recent years have been among white, college-educated suburbanites .. https://www.brookings.edu/research/bidens-victory-came-from-the-suburbs/ . For Carlson, things such as facts and figures are mostly irrelevant. “Every time they import a new voter, I become disenfranchised as a current voter,” he continued. “I have less political power because they are importing a brand new electorate.”

"Projecting an accurate portrayal of the Leftists today. Fascist bigots who accuse everyone ELSE of what they are. That IS projection."

At least we know you have an idea of what projection is. After doing it for years it's
about time . You know you turned all else ass-up, but you know what projection is.

The apocalyptic myth that helps explain evangelical support for Trump

""Is this fascism? No. Could it become fascism? Yes
"Is Donald Trump a Fascist? Part 2 of Interview with Robert Paxton, Father of Fascism Studies
[...]
Professor Paxton, thanks for staying with us for Part 2 of this conversation. Have you been surprised by the rise and the popularity of Donald Trump?
ROBERT PAXTON: Totally surprised. Not so very long ago, Trump was a guaranteed laugh line. He was considered a buffoon. All you had to do was to show the hair and call him “The Donald,” and everyone kind of snickered. And suddenly he’s this—he’s this immense power. He’s touched the nerve with his style, which has fascist overtones, encouraging violence, attacking the internal enemy and so forth, saying that the system is rotten and it needs an outsider to fix it, which is a fascist kind of appeal—make Germany great, make America great. Suddenly he’s touched a nerve, and for millions of people he is suddenly seen taken more than seriously. And that’s a strange flip. That’s a strange transformation."

It was Plato who said, “He, O men, is the wisest, who like Socrates, knows that his wisdom is in truth worth nothing”
