Fortnite was making so much money off it already, but they wanted more. If not for the Apple platform, they wouldn’t have even risen to where they are - it’s greed, plain and simple. As usual, Cook handled it well - even though the Judge skewed her impartiality and gave grounds for an appeal (with her castigation of Cook) if Apple was to lose this.
