Yep, I have read about Tesla's Supercharger. And the comment "It can wear down your battery faster" is an understatement. Use it very often and you will be shelling out $3K for a battery replacement sooner than you think.

It all boils down to grid infrastructure and battery technology. Our federal government should be focusing "green funds" like a laser on these two issues rather than taking a shotgun approach to funding EV's. Find a solution to these two issues and everything else will follow. But I think the government's and some auto manufacturer's expectations for how fast this will happen are unrealistic.
