Swiss pharmaceutical company Novartis and its partner Molecular Partners are starting clinical trials of their experimental Covid 19 drug Ensovibep. A Phase II study involving 400 patients will demonstrate the drug's safety and efficacy. The treatment goal is to prevent worsening of the disease and hospitalization at an early stage of infection, according to Novartis. Initial test results are expected in August. A Phase III trial with an additional 1,700 patients is then planned, with results expected in the first half of 2022.
