Quick note on Locke and social contracts...When the US declared Independence it was claiming Britain had broken its social contract with the colonists....

Locke's work was used for the Declaration itself....

What can be said, is corporate America as a whole broke their contract with society......A proud Friedman grins in his grave without regard to the social upheaval his doctrine and its accepted teachings have created and we are now feeling the effects oet
