I like the idea of royalty trusts for dealing with inflation because you are generally going to be insulated from inflation. It's a little dicey with traditional companies because it can be hard to suss out whether their costs are going to exceed the benefits from inflation. I'm not usually clear who has enough pricing power to counteract it.

If you are getting a flat percentage though you don't have matching expenses and your income goes up as inflation does.

The problem is most of those are tied to energy. I can't find much tied to minerals although I do like LIFZF as a royalty trust tied to an iron mine. I've owned it for awhile and wish I had bought more. I'm interested in any good mineral based trusts if someone has ideas.
