Many things that have later been proved true were long considered false due to the limitations in the then current scientific abilities

I'm not sure how that applies here. Let me see what you're getting at:

*There's an invisible man who lives in the sky.
*He controls the weather.
*At some point we'll be able to prove this.

Here are some random points to ponder. Mlsoft says that God can step in and change the weather. Ever see a hurricane disappear off the map? Ever see an Atlantic cyclone that didn't blow off the Sahara and move in a westerly direction? Why is there a tornado alley? Can't God send tornados to Boston or San Francisco?

Your example of the earth being flat is a good example- a "proven" scientific fact for a long time

On observation the earth appears to be flat. I think that was assumed rather than proven. At least that's my understanding of that situation. Maybe you have something showing a scientific perspective on the "flat earth."

I think science does work to demystify things. I think science works to understand how the climate functions. It would be funny if at the end of many centuries of inquiry, science were to conclude that God makes weather. But you go on with all that. Joke's on me.

As an aside, it was 59 degrees when I came home from riding two Saturdays ago... at 9:00 PM... in Connecticut... in January. The weather folks were saying it was going down into the teens in 10 days or so. How did they know God was about to shift the jet stream like that?

Get back to me.
