I read fully a third of the books on the list in HS and another third, give or take, in college and afterwards.

All of them inoculated me against becoming an authoritarian ass hat who wants to ban anything or bitch about the very cancellation culture they practice...shut up and play, act, sing.

Also, left me with a shit load of antibodies against the bat shit conspiracy theories that seem to lodge in the wee brains of so many righties who post here.
