If what you say is correct regarding lots of individuals buying (1) share, what sense does it make to spend more on a commission fee than the actual value of the stock - even on conversion, holding a single share at approx. a dollar value is strange at best.

You mention buying a share for a penny, which converts to a dollar - are you claiming that this was done without a commission fee, and if yes, what brokerage is allowing penny stock trading commission free? TIA
