What i was trying to get as is Netburst at 3GHz would be competitive today without K8-arch in the market, and Intel had no need to replace it anytime soon.

Complete and utter nonsense. The perpetual need to keep users
interested in upgrading their systems on a regular basis is far
more important to Intel's total sales than swapping a few points
of market share back and forth with AMD. Product stagnation is
tantamount to sales stagnation in the wealthy PC markets.
