Then it's also fair to say that AMD wouldn't be where it is today without a company like Intel to aim at. Just look at AMD's business model. Their future earnings are 100% dependent on how much market share they take from Intel, not by how much they grow the overall market. They needed Intel to create the market before they could attempt to live on a portion of it.
