Matched trades are trades made without a market maker. 1they are done by brokers by matching up buyer a seller by price and number of shares. A buyer of 1000 shares @ 1 dollar is matched up with a seller of 1000 shares @ 1 dollar. They can combine or group and split among others but it all must end matched.
