DGBUSD - Where to buy DigiByte? If you're in the USA, then Uphold & Bittrex
Uphold.com is what I recommend to family and friends that are novice traders and like easy.
Uphold will execute your orders at the mid-market price between the bid-ask plus their fee. No limit orders.
Tip: On Uphold.com after entering the order size, you select the "Preview Deposit" button. On the next screen you can wait and watch the quantity change as the market price moves. Select the "Confirm Deposit" when you're ready. I picked up an extra 5,000 DGB waiting ~10 min. while the price dropped a little. Lost a little waiting other times too!
Bittrex.com is also US based and the fees are 1/3 the cost compared to Uphold.com, plus you get an advanced exchange user interface with sophisticated entry and exit tools. Limit orders - yes.
Some user feed back is that their support is very slow and moving your coins to a private crypto wallet is difficult -- shouldn't be.
Binance.US hasn't listed DGB yet. Binance.com does offer DGB, but USA citizens are not eligible to open accounts. So, we have to wait for Binance.US to list DGB (Don't know when). Some users are using a VPN to sneak onto Binance.com, but they will delete your position if caught. Not sure what happens to your money in that situation either.
I have several accounts on various exchanges and getting the verification "Know Your Customer" done and bank accounts linked takes time. But, its worth having everything in place so you can pounce on opportunities when they arise; and its guaranteed there is a lot more to come. Plus, I like to spread my buys across accounts in the event one the exchanges has an unforeseen issue (Don't put all your eggs in one basket).
Security: Enable all the two-factor security, Google Authentication, etc. Keep good notes or use AutumnID or LastPass. Don't store your authentication keys in your computer or notes on your phone. What happens when you loose the device or it turns into a brick? Single point of failure = financial failure. Be proactive before the an event.
Note: Someone on the PVDG board on Monday had their E*Trade account hacked and they liquidated their position to get cheap shares. The guy told everyone to be sure to enable 2FA security for your trading accounts. ANY ACCOUNT THAT HAS MONETARY VALUE SHOULD HAVE ALL SECURITY MEASURES ENABLED AND PASSWORDS THAT ARE 20 CHARACTERS OR MORE IN LENGTH.
