I refamiliarized myself with that term when I was trying to determine if I could occasionally, safely, skip a day or two of my Atorvastatin.
Easily, it turns out.
It takes about 77 hours (3 days) for atorvastatin to be out of your system. The elimination half life of atorvastatin is approximately 14 hours. This is the time it takes for your body to reduce plasma drug levels by half. It takes approximately 5.5 x elimination half lives for a medicine to be out of one's system.Sep 22, 2020
Nothing fancy. Just the most basic of pharmacology. Every drug out there has a half life clearance by our friendly livers. With little Freddie claiming ivermectin would protect the next month (e.g. 30 days), finding the half life seems like a good starting point.
