Universco Broadband Solutions Inc. and AirCelerator Wireless Inc. today announced the completion of the merger that joined their two companies to form MetroBridge Networks Corporation. With Universco’s purchase of ZooLink Communications Limited, the merger consolidates three previous competitors with more than 400 combined customers.
MetroBridge Networks’ redundant metropolitan area microwave network delivers reliable Internet connections with speeds up to 100 Mbps and in the urban core, up to 1Gbps. The new company’s consolidated coverage now includes most areas in the Lower Mainland, extending from West Vancouver to Maple Ridge and totalling more than 2000 square kilometres.
“By joining forces, we not only achieve economies of scale but we are able to provide even better service to our customers,” says MetroBridge CEO Talal Yassin, formerly Universco CEO. “We now have a larger coverage area, more options for redundant solutions and additional staff to ensure rapid installation and upgrades.
