"Those making the sacrifice are making it willingly" - wouldn't it be refreshing if the adult children of Bush/Cheney also made SOME, ANY sacrifice "willingly", like volunteering in a Vet hospital? Hey, this is their dad's war - that's the least they can do.

Condi missed an opportunity to appear to be empathetic - she could have trumped Boxer by saying that she does understand the families of our military sons/daughters have concerns, yada, yada, yada. My first reaction to Boxer's comment would have been to demonstrate empathy.
