Actually, I think we saw quite the Leopard demo. That 'pinch zoom' and the rest must be in the Leopard code, and probably display independent resolution, and maybe some new power management? Maybe even a much faster Leopard, considering it seemed to run pretty well on that hand held apple phone, maybe it will fly on an Intel powered desktop/laptop.
Whether Apple is ready to give us a desktop or laptop with a large touch sensitive screen is an open question, but a little imagination says it can't be far off.
If a new Mac comes out and it looks anything like the excellent demo that tomm linked to, I think it is 'katy bar the door' for this fruit company. In another ten years it'll be, 'Gates? Dell? yeah, they used to have something to do with computers, right? What are they up to these days?'
OK, that was a little over the top, but this touch stuff could be big, big, BIG. It makes a great visual - it will be on every TV news show for a week when it comes out.
Touch Screen Macs, Beatles, Earnings. Lots of good news to come. I think. Hopefully, they get past this options issue and clear that dark cloud.
