Matter of fact, the lawyer team quitting so close to trial is a lawyer technique. It allows more time to bury data or whatnot.
I've seen it directly done and was in productions with lawyers where we recorded trial test runs. Seen a case where they bailed just like this and a month later half the lawyers were back on the case. It's all chess. trump likely already has a new crew who probably are the ones that suggested the jump. It's not an accident and whatever the news gets is bullshit from the trump teams.
I predict repukeicans will demand a new date months later and will get it. And mitch is still calling the shots.
This is a horrible thought, but I think I'd enjoy hearing that mitch was shot in the head by boebert by accident, or whoever the fake cowgirl is who keeps taking guns into the chambers.
