Don't know who stanley is, but asking the very group- lobbyists, about what their idea of term limits are is not very conductive. You don't ask the guy breaking into buildings about how to make better alarm systems if his business is still breaking into the buildings. Same as asking politicians to limit their pac donations. The biggest proponents to term limits have been the long termers and their lobbyists. And what isn't really discussed is the fear that politicians have that if term limits goes full government, the politicians will not have time to nurture their lobbyist friends and payoffs as well as set up careers for themselves.

Because what is almost always brought up at the same time as term limits is how to keep retired politicians from going directly into lobbying or working for a company on their PAC. Because the senators career is worked on the whole time he's in office and is setting up his job when his term is over. This has been going on for a hundred years and contributes to all levels of good ol boys control.

In fact, the backgrounds of state legislators elected after term limits were imposed closely resemble the backgrounds of those elected before such restrictions. They typically have previous political experience and are more educated and affluent than the voters who selected them. And while term limits have changed the way lobbyists do their business, they have actually increased their influence. The legislators elected after term limits were imposed often lack knowledge of the details of many complex policies and turn to lobbyists for information. These special interest groups actually report that they now work harder “educating” less knowledgeable legislators.
