Montauk Renewables, Inc. is a renewable energy company. The Company focuses on the recovery and processing of environmentally detrimental methane (biogas) from landfills and other non-fossil fuel sources for use as a replacement to fossil fuels. It develops, owns and operates renewable natural gas (RNG) projects, using technologies that supply RNG into the transportation industry and use RNG to produce electrical power for the electrical grid. Its segments include Renewable Natural Gas and Renewable Electricity Generation. Renewable Natural Gas includes the production of RNG. Renewable Electricity Generation includes generation of electricity at biogas-to-electricity plants. The Company's sources of commercial scale biogas include landfill gas (LFG) and anaerobic digester gas (ADG), which is produced inside an airtight tank used to breakdown organic matter, including livestock waste.
