As an investor of $CYDY, I am always curious & concerned when I see any posts that demonstrate a potential negative on my investment...
When looking at the screenshot in iHUB post #140200, I was immediately struck and found it very odd that the name of the requestor had been hidden from view. https://investorshub.advfn.com/uimage/uploads/2021/1/13/vgwgq417AC81B-7CCB-436B-B51E-F1629AC18EDC.jpeg
Unsure of the reason to hide the name of the individual making the FOIA requests in the response letter so, I decided to do some investigating of my own. I was happy to learn that FOIA keeps a monthly log of all freedom of information act requests. When searching through the September log, I uncovered the FOIA request (20-01957-FOIA) in the previously mentioned post was real and that the request came from Jacob Ma-Weaver of the Hedge Fund Cable Car Capital LLC... But, as you can see from the FOIA log attachment, his request was denied in full... https://www.sec.gov/files/data/foia-logs/foia-log-october-2020-b7a-exemption.csv
I found it odd that a person associated with a hedge fund would make such a request so, I decided to continue researching Mr. Jacob “Weaver” Ma-Weaver. Interestingly enough, I found that was Mr. Weaver has a history of short-selling controversy... Some might think it a conflict of interest when Mr. Weaver and his firm was funding an ex-employee lawsuit against Tesla while simultaneously being a short-seller of Tesla’s underlying security. https://www.insurancejournal.com/news/national/2020/08/13/579047.htm. Now that I’m aware of potential controversies surrounding Cable Car Capital, I think I’ll be able to sleep better tonight knowing that there’s not a “scandal” brewing based on the FOIA request mentioned in post #140200...
When searching for the facts, it’s important not to take things at face-value and conduct your own due-diligence... Who knows what will be uncovered as now we know how easy it is to identify those making the FOIA requests... For example, one question I definitely have now is to determine if Cable Car Capital LLC has a short position in CYDY and/or if they have a history of shorting CYDY... Who knows, maybe I’ll go back and look at every FOIA request made relating to CYDY to see if there’s a similar background story b/c, there’s almost always more to the story...
At the very least, I trust this now puts to rest the controversy around FOIA request 20-01957...
