I see that I left the off my less post. My apology if it offended you.
I believe that most foods contain a variety of micro-nutrients which contribute a necessary role in meeting our nutritional needs.
I further believe that many researchers, when they discover a "new" nutrient, can get easily carried away. If a little is good, then "lots" must be absolutely great.
This phenomenon has happened even with vitamins and respected researchers. e.g. Vitamin C and Salk; Vitamin D and Hollick.
DHA, an essential fatty acid, has attracted many avid followers who believe that if a few mcgms is wonderful, then 3 gm megadoses are utterly fantastic leaving a graveyard of companies - $NEPT $ACST AND $AMRN among them.
Certainly, there are exceptions where sustained megadoses are helpful. But, for the overwhelming majority of people. millions of years of evolution has resulted in most people getting most benefits from a balanced diet and a bit of exercise.
Regardless, enjoy your resveratrol and have a happy new year. Ian
