January 12th is the first day that Scotus could publish the opinion. They already made the decision in a meeting that always takes place the Friday of the week where they hold the Oral Arguments. If the decision was unanimous, the opinion is released fast. After the Christmas recess and under lockdown, one month is enough time to write the opinion by the Justice chosen.
