In the 70's and 80's I was studying hypnotherapy and meditation to help my mother with chronic diabetes pain and nephropathy. We got pretty good and weed wasn't easy to get plus wasn't supported as much with pain control as it is today. Wasn't a lot of studies at the time directed purely as pain assistance. It was happening, but my mother's pain was before a lot of the advances today. Holistic doctors were into crystals, power centers of the body, rocks and too much dopamine. That messes with your mind too much.
There's a simple question to ponder that can lead to all sorts of bizarre and not so bizarre paths and even enter the intelligence at conception debates. And that is, does an single cell entity like a ameba actually know what it is doing? Can thought exist in an enclosed basic nucleus?
I have read most of Jung, I may revisit as well. But I also enjoyed Carlos, whether it was non fiction or fiction. I still look over my shoulder at crows.
