Neither can I - back to the drawing board, probly ... There's more of a connection with people associated with Frederick Adler & his outfit, TLYN/Cambio's old VC. A guy called Christopher D. Illick seems to have been part of Adler's circle, somehow or other, and he turns up as a director at a few of the companies, including Phoenix. Not at TLYN, unfortunately, but he was a selling stockholder in the S-3 they registered in 1999, after the Cambio backdoor into Meadowbrook.

There's a NY group called Wafra Partners and an affiliate called W-L Associates which seem to have controlled Phoenix & might be interesting to look into.

I guess if this action is tidying up around the edges from another investigation, it may have to do with a Phoenix-related investigation, rather than Heartland. On a quick look, Phoenix smells to me pretty much as you might expect a NJ waste disposal company to smell ... There's one name associated with Phoenix which caught my eye: Robert Longo. He was a NJ waste king, the "victim" in an HYIP scam involving one of the crooks behind the old Diligizer board (Michael Kondratiev-Keigh, aka "UmbertoXXIII"). Probably meaningless in this context, but always fun to follow the threads.
